The simplest way to arrive
Airport: Langkawi International Airport (LGK)
- Domestic: Malaysia's major airlines, such as Malaysia Airlines and AirAsia, operate regular flights to Langkawi from Kuala Lumpur, Penang, and other major cities like Johor Bahru and Kota Bharu.
- International: Some international routes connect Langkawi to cities in countries like Singapore, China, and Thailand, making it accessible to travelers from around the world.
BY SEA
Ferry connections from the mainland
Ferry Terminals:
- Kuah Jetty (for passengers)
- Tanjung Lembung/RoRo-ferry (for Passengers & Vehicles)
- Telaga Harbour (Passenger ferry between Langkawi and Koh Lipe, Thailand)
- Langkawi Cruise Terminal (international cruise ships stop here on their itineraries)
Regular Ferry services operate between Langkawi and various nearby ports, including Kuala Kedah, Kuala Perlis on the mainland and Penang.
BY LAND/SEA
For guests travelling through Malaysia by road
Langkawi can also be reached by combining a mainland drive with a ferry crossing.
If you're on Mainland Malaysia, you can take a bus or drive to Kuala Kedah or Kuala Perlis, two major ferry departure points. From there, board a ferry to Langkawi and enjoy the scenic ride across the sea.
Arriving by Air
Langkawi International Airport (LGK) is the main gateway to the island. It offers excellent connectivity to various domestic and international destinations.

International guests, families, short stays, and travellers who prefer the simplest route. Common routes include Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Singapore, and selected international connections.

Arriving by Ferry
Ferries connect Langkawi with several mainland ports, including Kuala Perlis and Kuala Kedah. The ferry ride provides scenic views of the Andaman Sea and the surrounding islands.
BEST FOR
Guests travelling through northern Malaysia or arriving with a more flexible schedule.

Driving to Langkawi
Guests travelling from Kuala Lumpur, Penang, or other parts of Malaysia may drive to a mainland ferry terminal before crossing to Langkawi by sea.
