Langkawi Waterfalls

Beyond its beaches, Langkawi is shaped by rainforest hills, natural rock pools, and waterfalls that feel especially alive after rain. These are places to slow down, cool off, and experience the island’s greener side.

This guide brings together Langkawi’s main waterfalls, with practical notes on access, swimming, trekking, and the best way to visit each one.

1 Seven Wells Waterfall / Telaga Tujuh

A forested waterfall area known for its natural pools and upper viewpoints. The climb can be warm, but the setting rewards visitors with water, rock formations, and rainforest surroundings.

BEST FOR

Swimming, light trekking, nature lovers, active families, and panoramic island views after a short climb.

WOW NOTE
Wear proper shoes, bring water, and avoid slippery areas after rain. The upper section requires effort, so choose the lower area if you want an easier visit.

2 Temurun Waterfall

A tall, seasonal waterfall set within a quieter forested area in northern Langkawi. When the water is flowing well, it is one of the island's most peaceful nature stops.

BEST FOR

Nature stops, slow drives, quiet scenery, photography, and guests exploring the northern side of the island.

WOW NOTE
This waterfall depends on recent rainfall. It can be beautiful after rain, but may be much quieter during drier periods.

3 Durian Perangin Waterfall

A layered waterfall with shaded areas, natural pools, and a more local weekend feel. It is easy to reach and works well as a gentle nature stop rather than a full-day activity.

BEST FOR

Families, easy nature visits, picnics, short stops, and guests who want a relaxed waterfall experience without a long trek.

WOW NOTE
Visit on a weekday or earlier in the day if you prefer a calmer setting. As always around waterfalls, keep footwear practical and move carefully on wet stone.

4 Lubuk Semilang Waterfall

Set within a quiet forest area near Gunung Raya, Lubuk Semilang Waterfall offers a softer, more local side of Langkawi. The setting is simple and natural, with shaded paths, flowing water, and small pools that feel especially refreshing after rain.

Best for
A quiet nature stop, light walking, shaded forest surroundings, and guests who want a gentler waterfall visit away from the busiest tourist spots.

WOW Note
Lubuk Semilang is best enjoyed slowly and without expectation of a polished tourist attraction. Wear comfortable shoes, bring water, and visit after some rainfall if you want to see the waterfall at its livelier best.
